I read there earlier today in the IFJ that French beef farmers were out protesting by blocking the gates of the French cattle factory Bigard.

According to the paper, they're not happy with the prices they are being paid. Presntly they are getting 20c/kg more than we are.

My question is why are we not out protesting??

Last time IFA protested against meat factory prices it ended up with E500,000 fine for disrupting business! Now i wonder why that didnt apply in the passport office:rolleyes:

I heard on Friday that there was a 3 week delay to get cattle booked into aibp nenagh, maybe thats part of the reason we are not protesting?

Oh I fully agree with, no point protesting this time of year when it is the most disruptive to the majority of farmers, but what's stopping us at another time of the year?????

The only thing is that complaining down the pub doesn't seem to increase the size of the factory cheque!
