Bit of help in shaving..

I know this will probably seem like a stupid question, but would appreciate an answer!
Whenever I shave I've always been told by my Dad not to go to far up above the cheeks and never to shave there. Only problem is, I do have hair growing there and I'm a little bit conscious of it, but tend not to shave it because of him saying not to. Is there a limit to where I should shave up to? Again, I know this is basic, but thanks for any help!

and the area in red is the area in question - http://i55.tinypic.com/2r5t6o2.jpg!

Why did your dad tell you that?

"it makes it thick and it grows faster". It's not too noticeable now so I think the idea is that it will just grow back fast and worse..he's the type to have his urban myths though about random things though..

It's just a myth, it won't make the hair grow back thicker. If it did it would be a great cure for baldness.

True, it's probably part of his wishful thinking! Thanks for the help!

Just shave where your beard grows, and leave the rest. It'll be different for everybody.

Shave everything, but if it's growing on your forehead and nose then you are probably a werewolf and need more help then we can give you.

Seriously - just don't mix shaving with a razor and an electric razor. Your skin gets used to on or the other after a few weeks and mixing them both will give you rashes and spots.
