    hi,
I'm flying to Las Vegas with BA but must stopover in Heathrow first. Problem is that Aerlingus is the carrier to London and the baggage allowance for both airlines is different. Also because one is a long haul and the other short. My question is will i be subject to the Aer Lingus baggage allowance for the trip to heathrow or does my baggage allowance with BA also carry over to the first flight as i booked with BA and they are obviously using Aerlingus as the carrier to London?

Are both flights on the same ticket? If so, there's no problem. I went transatlantic with BA in Sept and Aer Lingus gave me the baggage allowance in Dublin.

If it's one ticket/booking - you get the more generous allowance.

If it's two seperate tickets (Dublin to Heathrow booked with Aer Lingus, Heathrow to Vegas booked with BA) then you're sod out of luck and you would be subject to the Aer Lingus allowance for Dublin - Heathrow/Heathrow to Dublin.

great thanks for the replies. It's all booked on one ticket so it looks as though i'm sorted.
