    also ......
Mike Jones vs. Jesus Soto Karass !

Rigendeaux is many many talents above Cordoba .
    A lob-sided fight for me

I've been following Rigondeaux since he's come on the professional scene, he looks an absolute class act. His body punching is just vicious.
Cordoba is his first step up in class but i expect him to do this looking very impressively and then the World to see how good this fella is.

Cordoba should win this - 4/1 is massive

yes, fairly promising reputation, however 2 southpaws with usually dictate that the more technical fighter will win and I think Cordoba is slightly ahead in the technical department and has a massive advantage at experience in pro fights which will count for a lot

I have the opposite view mate, i have Rigondeaux way ahead on the technical front, he's been near perfect anytime i've seen him although in fairness you're right in this being a big stepup in terms of being a big fight.

A step up in the pro game , but Im sure he's beaten better opponents before .... many many times .

One of the best Amateurs ever , 380 victories or something like that .

Being a Cuban , most people will have never heard of him before , but he's no secret on the world amt scene .

I expect him to KO Cordoba , and win every single round on the way ......
    Here we go !

    Here we go !

380 victories, number mostly due to length of time in amateurs, no doubt decent record though.

12 rounds against a technically sound opponent who has vast experience will be a very different proposition, cordoba has 12 rounds against cab, poon and siderenko, he is a very wise fighter

i do feel Rig should have had a couple more fights before taking on such an opponent, however age is against him and if he is going to make it as a pro then it has to be now

Yeah he left the wildcard gym as he didn't think they were giving him enough attention, he wants to be pushed along quite quick.

No way , he's moving way too slowly for my liking .
He is more than capable of clearing out his weight class at world level

Looking forward to this one .

I place big bets probably only once or twice a year , and I need to be absolutely sure of myself to do it .
Tonight , Im on the brink of going hard on Rig .

This is dreadful stuff. Only that bodyshot is noteworthy. Can see this going all the way.

It's a poor fight. Was expecting much better from both. Bring back Bernard dunne

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Rigondeaux looks absolutely shattered. Cordoba on the front foot. Can't find a killer punch though. Fcuk all landing for either.

Bernard Dunne to be shipped to Cuba in the morning ;) Fidel Castro to personally greet him upon arrival.

poor poor fight, still better than the other 2 bums in manchester earlier..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,652 ✭✭✭Boooourns

Rigondeaux is just winning rounds now instead of trying to impress, disappointing stuff and i think he underrated Cordoba.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,652 ✭✭✭Boooourns

Is the Mike Jones fight on after this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭allybhoy

Yeh hasnt really taking off as a contest, Cordoba is a wiley enough fighter though, he knows this guy is quicker than him and so has to adapt. I like Rig's style , he reminds me of Roy Jones Jr a bit, though i was hoping for more from him.

Thank Christ that's over. Rigondeaux should get the decision.

A truly dreadfull fight. I don't expect Rigondeaux to be getting another big showcase bout again for quite some time.
