Yeah I only played it last month on PC. Pity Rockstar won't do a bit more stuff like that. Instead of sticking to same old GTA

To be fair, the PS2 was an amazing console, with some truly fantastic games. If only Sony hadn't been ***** and kept the PS3's backward compatibility.

It's actually made my a different team from the one that makes the GTA games. I actually much prefer the rockstar games from all their other companies than the ones from Rockstar North who other than the GTA games have only made the awful Manhunter games. Stuff like Bully, the Warriors, Red Dead and GTA Chinatown Wars are made by other teams.

    moh frontline

    moh frontline

It's aged really badly. Compared to PC games at the time it was a poor FPS and compared to the FPS games on consoles now it's not great at all. The beach landing is laughably empty compared to MOH:AA and after the second level which is decent the level design is forgettable. Soundtrack is amazing though.

    Red Dead Revolver is fun.
SCAR-Squadra Course Alfa Romeo is an original and hard racer featuring the cars of, well, Alfa Romeo.
The Sega Classics compilation with a nice update of Virtua Racing, terrible updates of everything else though!
    Warhammer:Fire Warrior is pretty good.
World War Zero isn't bad either.
Remember of course that your PS2 can also play PSone games, so go and get the Ridge Racer series as well as Wipeout 2097 and Wipeout 3 Special Edition, worth their weight in gold, not to mention Parappa the Rappa, Kurushi, Kula World and Vib Ribbon.

    Manhunt
GTA: Vice City (3 and San Andreas were also very enjoyable)
    Tomb Raider: Anniversary
    Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
    Need For Speed Underground 2
    Devil May Cry 3
Buzz (only with a few mates and a few brews though)
Any of the Tony Hawk games (except American Wasteland)
God Of War 1 and 2
    The Incedible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Legacy Of Kain: Defiance (little or no point playing this if you haven't played the earlier installments though)
The Prince Of Persia Trilogy (especially Warrior Within
    Resident Evil 4
    Turok: Evolution
There are also some great compilation discs availble for PS2. Ones with all the classic Sonics, or Street Fighter IIs, or Capcom and Midway games on them.

There were also a few others that I really enjoyed- The Suffering (and it's sequel althought it was bastard hard), SSX Tricky, State Of Emergancy, Spider-Man 2, and Max Payne, to name but a few, though for some reason I can imagine that these would have aged quite badly over the last few years.

can anyone tell me this game, i cant for the life of me remember the name of it. twas was my fave game for years,
a playstation 2 game, set during world war 2, you played a group of 4 men in each level, one was irish (wore a beret) the others were a spy, a demolitions expert and another guy, you could scroll the map around 90 degrees each time so had 4 different viewpoint angles to get different views, it was a kinda tactical game very similar to command and conquer. the men were small on the screen, it wasn't a first person shooter. kind of a point and click type game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58 ✭✭YayForYuffie

    I quite enjoy:

    Resident Evil Code Veronica X.
    Final Fantasy X.
Final Fantasy X-2 (I just pretended that it was not a sequel)
    Final Fantasy XII.
Dog's Life. (I played it when I was eleven though, so you may not want to play it)
    Ratchet and Clank 1, 2 & 3.

psi ops. This is a testament to how bad the current generation is. This was a very poor seller but had everything. A fresh and fun way of playing, physics ahead of its time, variety and a decent story with good boss battles.

It would be in its 3rd or 4th sequel if it came a generation later, but the glut of quality games last generation kept this gem hidden in the bargain bins

Rose tinted glasses. No way in hell is frontline better looking or playing than MOH:AA. Frontline dies after the second level and the level design takes a nose dive. AA is great the full way through. AA was on a PC using a heavily modified Quake 3 Arena engine and was one of the nicest looking games at the time. The engine was so good it's still being used in the current CoD games. Frontline was a on aging PS2 technology and was pretty rough when it came out. The beach landing levels tell you a lot with better sound in the PC version, the beach being much more populated compared to the empty beach in frontline and much higher quality textures and models. You could also play it in 1600x1200

I think your the one with the rose tinted specs. I played AA after Frontline and was actually expecting it to look and play better but was dissappointed with it. I played AA with a high resolution as well but still thought the levels looked bare and the models looked less detailed. The levels just felt more empty than Frontline. It's still a good game but i think Frontline is better.

I played the PC version and it is a great game although the storyline was kind of ruined with the weird stuff towards the end.

No it's not. Go look at some youtube videos. I played them at the same time since they were released around the same time as each other. Frontline was a poor mans FPS on the aging PS2 while MoHAA was one of the most technologically advanced and best looking games at the time it was released on the PC. It was also a far far better game.

I've done one better and played both of them last night. Granted the version of Frontline i have is the remastered one that came with Tier 1 but i still remember being dissappointed with AA's graphics the first time i played it.
