crashing water noise at pump

Hi,I have a crashing water noise at the pump on my gas boiler every 30 sec or so. I recently had got a new rad put in but plumber insists that system is fully bled with no airlocks.system pressure gauge at boiler is reading about 1/2 bar which I think it always did, there is an auto air vent at the top of the circuit in the attic and another at the pump itself, both are open. All rads are hot top and bottom. I presume this can only be air still stuck in the system. Any ideas on best way to purge ?ThanksCir.

I am wondering is it the sound of the water travelling over the heat exchanger which does tend to sound like that.

ye could be, did think it sounded like the pump, I'll pull the cover off tonight and try isolate the noise.
its quite noisy now, never did it prior to recent work on system.

If it is heat exchanger, is it still air that is the issue ?

    Thanks
    Cir

i dont think so. i had a vokera for years and this done this all the time. It only annoyed me because it was in the back room and if i was trying to get extra sleep it would annoy me.

......... had another look the following evening, noticed the operating pressure had dropped off to about 1/4 bar. I upped the pressure to 1 bar and ran for a while. It is still a little noisy but much quieter than the previous day. Could it be that the auto air vents need a bit of pressure behind them before they work.
