Driving Licence Catch 22 Problem,Please Help!

    Hi there.

    I was wondering could anybody answer my query ? To apply for my next provisional licence which will be my 3rd,I have to apply for a test date but cannot apply for the test without a licence.My second provisional is out of date by 1 year and 4 months as I had been off the road due to illness,so can't provide proof of taking the test in the last 2 years,as I couldn't do it in the corresponding time.

    I am kind of at a loss as what to do,I have visited the RSA,Dublin City Council and Citizens Information sites but typically there is no answer to this question,if anybody can help me out and advise me what I should do,I would greatly appreciate it,thanks in advance.

    Just use your license number from your expired learners permit or provisional license when applying for your test. Once you have confirmation of your application apply immediately for a new Learners Permit.
