Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve virility/libido naturally?

Was there anything you tried that worked for you?

My prowess hasn't been great for quite a while, and I don't know why. :(

The simplest things would be to analyse your everyday habits ie diet, smoking or drinking if you do either,do you get regular exercise etc.Often times waning libido can be caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.

Exercise definitely helps, as does trying to relax both mentally and physically. Relaxing mentally is the harder bit, of course, but if you're worried or stressed about anything it can really put a damper on things. Sometimes even identifying what you're stressed about (if anything) can help. A general background sense of anxiety can kill the libido. It's all a mental game.

And as suggested, cut down on booze and smokes for a while.

    I noticed a huge difference when I:

    quit smoking
    started exercising
    started eating well
and eventually reduced my drink intake quite a bit
(the last three there were all for the love of a sport)

What's your current diet like? Do you exercise much?

Is there scientific evidence for that? Not a snide remark, genuine question.

Some indications about ginseng. Not conclusive but statistically significant. Have heard this a few times anecdotally myself.

It's actually pretty good compared to most people, unfortunately I have to eat really well or my health goes down rapidly. I try to eat as high a percentage of fruit as I possibly can with some meat, but I keep falling back back on pot noodle, takeaway, things like that. I am pretty sure that eating better would make me healthier (unlike a lot of people, who can seemingly get away with eating anything). I don't drink or smoke, the reason I don't drink is because I just don't like it.

I probably don't do enough exercise, I find it a bit boring. So that is one thing I could improve.

I have siberian ginseng extract from before, but I find some of those things a bit suspect... I'll have another look into it though and maybe start taking them again.

    Quit the fags
Go for a 45 min walk every day
Cut crappy food out of diet, like fast food, mayonaisse and soft drinks
Eat fruit on a regular basis, strawberries, grapes and apples are real cheap in dunnes

But most importantly get your head in order, most of these problems are more mental than physical.

Hi, am surprised you have mostly received nutrtional suggestions in answer to the question. My gut instinct would be to have a look at the emotional side of things. Worry, fear, depression, anxiety, confidence, etc etc all have a pronounced affect. These things have a habit of creeping up on us very insidiously as well.

Water intake is important -if you are dehydrated or your blood pressure is low this can have an affect.

So make sure you get hydrated up.

If like Eph1958 says it is emotional and you are having pre match nerves pop to your GP for something or it could indicate another illness.

If a guy had an earache we would say get off to your GP and I dont know but it seems that everything I see tells me that if you have a problem in this general area man up and get off to your doctor and dont let any silly thing like shyness get in the way.

Exercise daily ( no need to go mad, just get the blood pumping)

Eat more saturated fat (increases testosterone levels)

Take zinc/magnesium supplements (necessary to maintain serum test. levels)

Get adequate sleep/ try to lower your stress levels

Cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, broccoli etc..) can reduce oestrogen levels, thereby increasing testosterone

Decease alcohol consumption (lowers your test. levels)

Excercise is always a good one. The girlfriends here convinced me to go to Capoeira with them and it has certainly helped with both my libido, and my ability to use it with incresed energy levels and flexibility.

Which is good because as a Martial Arts Dance form it is too ridiculous to actually use on a dance floor and entirely useless to use in a fight so until I started feeling the benefits of it I pretty much thought of it as the best of both worlds mixed to form something entirely useless in either.

'Haven't heard that stat about saturated fats before.... does it work for women also? I know they have signifigantly lower testosterone levels but they are important.

Well, the "French" have a saying...:

Il ne faut pas confondre vitesse et précipitation.

Roughly translated....(One must not confuse speed with haste)

Take a chill pill too for a spell....maybe this?:

Eat food with a high iron content, drink lots of water, keep alcohol to a minimum, do weights, get good sleep and no smoking.

Lately mine has hit the floor. Only thing that has changed is my anxiety due to a new medical condition. It's incredible how drastically it has changed. I used be always up for it and that area of my life was always grand. Lately it has changed almost like a flip of a switch.

I have drank like a maniac, chain-smoked, and since have quit smoking (over 1 year) and hardly ever drink now. My diet has also varied severly from taco fries twice daily to eating porridge and no fried foods. And i've gone weeks without exercising and then other periods where i play soccer 3-4 times a week, and run as well. My libido through all of this was the exactly the same. No matter how healthy or unhealthy it never was affected. But a lot of anxiety.... and it's practically dead.

Obviously eating certain foods will help, but the head is almost everything imo.

It is a mistake to say things like “I was drinking and chain smoking for ages and it had no effect”.

The effects of drinking and smoking are cumulative. You can drink, smoke and eat take out for years with no effect on libido, then suddenly it will hit. It can even hit some time after you quit entirely all your bad habits.

They used to say that even if all CFC gases were entirely eliminated, that the effect on the Environment would continue for decades afterwards continuing to cause harm. The same is true of drug and fast food habits.

In fact, quitting can often (temporarily) do more harm than good. If you smoke drink and eat bad you put on weight and that fat stores a lot of things, including bad ones. A sudden change to a healthy life style makes you loose weight and much of the badness is released back into your system as you loose weight.

So many people who say “Sure I have been doing it for years and it has not caused problems” are missing two important points. A) There is no rule on when the effect of what you are doing for years will hit and B) There is no rule to say when you stop the effect will not still hit and in fact for some reasons a sudden switch to a healthy lifestyle can temporarily cause mayhem in your system.

Well i don't want to get into a debate but as far as my experience goes it didn't affect me, what way i lived. And as far as i know and believe what has affected me is anxiety. It's just my experience. That's all anyone can go on.

Switch your cooking oil to Pumpkin Seed oil instead of Olive oil, butter etc. Pumpkin Seed oil is high is zince and magnesium and B vitamins, all of which help the body produce more testosterone. Which is basically what you are after here.
