Fazer not running healthy

Ive a 2004 Fazer 600. Gradually over the past week, the acceleration has been awful. There is a lack of power/response when I twist the throttle through 2k-5k revs even going up through the gears. It was running fine. I had it fully serviced in June and have done about 2k miles since.
Im not mechanically minded, so ive no idea what could be causing it. I had somebody look at it today and he reckons the carbs are fairly in balance.

I can leave it into a mechanic but it could be a week before its looked at.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this or any suggestions as to sort it?

Could be valve clearances need doing or carb icing(it is getting colder now).

Got carb icing the other morning for the first time, gotta get some Pro FST.

Have you checked the air filter?
