Who remembers the old DC8 that Aer Turas used as a freighter flying out of Dub,I loved when i was working out of STN as there was so much different aircraft rather than the normal B737/A320 etc.

It's easier for me to remember what I've actually flown than what I've flown on.

    Cessna 150/152
    Cessna 172
    Cessna 182
    Rallye 100
    Rallye Minerva
    Piper Cherokee Arrow
    Bellanca Decathlon
    Snowbird Microlight
    Beech Duchess
Plus one other I won't mention.
    Only ten.

    747
    767
    777
    Lockheed L1011
    Electra (nearly just taxied really)
    ATR-42/72
    Airbus A321
    A330
    Fokker 50
    Vickers Viscount
Douglas C47, The one now currently sitting in Weston.
    Bell Jetranger
    BN2 Islander
    Alouette III
Edit: Piper Cub, how could I have forgotten that one.
Not very impressive. I must get out more.

Good guess but as an ancient dinosaur, actually no, C172 for both CPL and IR believe it or not. No need for complex types back in the last century when I were a lad:D. The Duchess was just for the Multi rating.

Need to update one I'd forgotten and I see it's unique so far until Stovepipe turns up. He must have an interesting list which will cover the likes of the Fouga Magister and DH Dragon.

Alouette III, number 211. The only aircraft I carried a rifle on board.

No 747, yet!;) 717 was with Spanair and the E-190 was with BA CityFlyer, the types operating into/out of Ireland are, for the most part, boring! Nearly all 737 and A320

Can't remember, as i've only travelled in Europe, from the top of my head

    B737 (Many types)
    A320,
    A310
    MD10 (i think)
    Chipmunk (10 TIMES :D:D)
    Bulldog (twice)

Growing up in Wales, when i was 11 i joined the ATC, Air Training Corps, basically like the army cadets/scouts but centred around the RAF.

4 times a year we went to R.A.F. Woodvale for flying, we had a 30-35 min flight each and it was soooo fcukin cool.
After 10 mins or so you'd ask the instructor if ya could do some aerobatics, he'd then launch into loop the loops, stall turns, barrel rolls etc, all for free, paid for by the MOD :D:D

The Bulldog's i flew when we went to RAF Waddington for summer camp, side by side seats, and the instructors didn't realy do the aerobatics.

Once year, and this was stopped after for reasons unknown, the cadet of the year won a flight in a Hawk at RAF Valley, the wanker that won it was such an arse licker

One of the many benefits of having your mam work for BA... Before they moved there offices from dublin to germany unfortunately. Then it was bye-bye first class and Concorde... Well, bye-bye Concorde for everyone i suppose.

Last time i stepped on board was in New York last year. Standing next to the equally dormant USS Intrepid. Quiet sad really. Fond memories. I'd forgotten how small the windows were, for those of you that havent seen them, they really are tiny!

Funny enough, Concorde also 'helped' get my uncle illegally into the US back in the early 90's. Mam got him on one (enormous discount of course), because the logic was, security wouldnt be suspicious of anyone entering the US without the intention of returning with a return Concorde ticket worth Thousands of pounds. Who would suspect an unemployed brick layer would be on board aye?... Well, It worked ;)

Motorized Glider, Don't know make or modal!!!!!

Biggest regret is not having the privilege to fly the ultimate flying machine that was Concorde.

I love that story by Shmee about his uncle getting into the US on Concorde!

My own experience of flying Concorde isn't near as exciting but memorable nonetheless.

Departure Heathrow - Destination Heathrow !
I won a "Pleasure Flight" on the bird when I worked with BA.
She took off and did a lap of the North Sea before landing again an hour later.

I was also taken aback by the size of the windows, they are about the size of a slice of toast.
I'll never forget the take off though. In the long of list of attributes associated with Concorde,
suspension isn't one of them. You feel every little every little bump and tarmac joint on the runway
as she hurtles past T4 before suddenly hitting the sky.

    hi there,
I did get three flights in Fougas, courtesy of the Don and even got to handle them for a short while.I also got to fly in all the Marchettis and Cessnas, a Dauphin, a Gazelle, all the Alouettes, all the Casas and the King Air.
As a pilot, I have logged about 52 individual types and many subtypes, of which two are twins, two gyros,a dozen microlights,a helicopter, two motorgliders and many homebuilts/experimentals. About 510 hrs logged, including Night, IR and about 60 hrs sim.
I've flown in most of the usual commercials, the oddest one being a Dash 7.
    regards
    Stovepipe

Ah Flyer1, cheating with all the subtypes:P Still quite an impressive list. Fascinating actually.

As for Stovepipe, it's probably better you don't list them. It would be a huge post!

I think the rest of us can quit now after that impressive showing.

I have flown as a passenger on numerous aircraft types.

Boeing 747 Qantas & British Airways
    Boeing 767 Delta
    Boeing 757 Continental

I was also on a Helicopter once as a child with my father as passengers but haven't a clue to the make or model as I was at most 6 or 7. However that Helicopter trip and my first flight aged 5 with Aer Lingus on the 737 instilled a great love of aviation in me, since then I have travelled around the world and been to some amazing places and met some cool people all thanks to the jet age.
