No, this isnt a recession thread (shocker!), just a simple question,
Whats your party trick??

Mine is being able to tie a shoe-lace with one hand (always a massive hit with the ladies )
So have you got one??

I do the same trick and likewise it's a massive hit with the ladies .... although I use my tongue.

Put the tips of my two index fingers together then move them in circles in opposite directions...doesn't sound too impressive till you try it.

I learned a few bar tricks from magicians and bartenders in NYC, my usual one is the three straw pickup which I can't find a video for but here's a similar concept: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf8V2JeERJ0 The actual trick can be seen in the movie Zodiac done by Robert Downey Jr in a bar scene if you've ever seen it.

You make a wigwam out of two melted-together straws and another resting on the two in a tripod shape, you then place the straw in your hand behind the single, unmelted straw, which is placed away from you, and blow the straw stack - this collapses the straws away from you and the single straw slides underneath the two straws.. you know, I really can't explain it, but if we ever meet in a bar, ask me to do it for ya!

Doubt it, you probably think you're doing it but you're really just moving them in the same direction although not at the same time.
Point your fingers towards each other around a foot out from your neck, then move your right (or left, whatever you feel like) outwards from you and make a circle round to the same point. At the same time move your other hand inwards and make a circle again round to the same point. Keep doing it over and over again.

Sounds easy, and you'll probably think you've got it but more than likely you'll notice your hands are moving in the same direction (one hand above and one at the bottom, opposite sides of the circle).

I can do it by the way, but I'm super deluxe awesome (at least that's what mammy says).

but the one that gets the shock is smashing a tin of beans on my finger. It's wile loud and looks wile painful but there is a trick to it.

smash the can down on a hard surface but do it in the way that the can lands sideways (better way is look at the way cans buckle when damaged and use it that way

I put lit matches in mouth.
Light a match, stick it in your mouth and quickly close your lips (with the unlit end sticking out like the end of a lollipop). Flame goes out due to lack of oxygen before you start to burn. Then exhale through your nose and the smoke goes out your nostrils.

Disclaimer - if you get hurt trying this dont blame me...you're the one putting fire into your mouth:D

Hmmm -- really tempted to try it but im afraid of going around with a big black burn on my lip if i do it wrong

I dont have a trick but I always try to do the tie the cherry stem in a knot trick. And I end up swallowing the stem or choking on it.
Can anyone really do that?

the only time i injured myself doing it was when I was way too drunk and closed my lips too early, so I really just stabbed my face with a lit match that time
