I was thinking yea people might try claim items that are not theres but then again im sure garda have reports of where these items were found and such

until i realised the person who handed it in to the gardai, probally robbed it in the first place, where better a place to hide stolen goods than a garda station???

then wait however many days it takes until nobody claims it, and woo hoo its yours!

I know a couple who use a tandem bike to cycle to work .... will ask them if they had one stolen (I guess if they had they would have replaced it)

as for the idea....its a great idea..... how long before any of these make it to the Garda Auctions? ?? ...will some of them not make it ?

also....just a note ...the presentation pics on pages 7/8...10/11etc .... I would have told the guy in the background to move out of the way .... if these people want a copy of the pic they want a nice pic - he' ruins it*.

Hmmmm page 4 shows "stolen" brass band musical instruments ... page 7 shows Gardai playing instruments!!!! Maybe the Gardai stole them

A mate of mine had his football teams jersies stolen there a while back. I spotted them there on the flickr account and contacted him. The team has been reunited with their property so its has already yielded a positive result
