    with words! not actual bombs!

I'm in no way endorsing any kind of violence, but I'm sick of this sh*t where these slimey, greedy, repulsive excuses for human beings continue to just dump on the rest of us without feeling any real consequences where it matters to them. Their power, and their pocket. For years they've taken both from us, while they drive around in plush autos and grant themselves all the sneaky pay increases they think they can get away with. These people must be psychotic!

Since the Irish, in my honest opinion, are inherently lazy and / or passive aggressive, until they get into a position of power at least, I figure maybe we can at least have an armchair protest, and take back some power! If someone is willing to help me draft a generic letter to our politicians, all of them, including local councillors and friends, then we can make it public for everyone and anyone to email or snail mail to these b@stards and let them know how "the people on the ground" really feel. like a petition, just better!

    Who's with me!

    anyone?

While i disagree with that statement, i'll defend to the death your right to say it! :p

As much as i even disliked them, I voted for the opposition. How FF stayed in powed still baffles me.

    @jobyrne30, email man! email!!!

Great idea. Let's waste paper complaining to politicians who may or may not have had a hand in the banking crisis only to have them ignored and binned immediately.

I'm a letter writer. Which puts me one step above a Joe Duffy caller and one step behind a street-walkin peaceful protester (the other kind are just eejits).

I've written a lot, A LOT, of letters to my TDs, Senators, Ministries etc. etc. I got one response ever, acknowledging receipt of my letter (to the Taoiseach's office) and answered a question I hadn't even asked. No response when I clarified what I was actually on about and asking them to come back.

I'm all behind any kind of action at this stage but letters don't cut it. A combination of literacy and ignorance are major stumbling blocks to tackling the politicians with this measure (the politician's ignorance and literacy by the way!). It's gotten to the stage that I write them to feel like I'm doing something.

The streets are the only place to be I think.

but that's my point. we're not on the streets! If we all start emailing / mailing in volume.. something might get through. It's something. Something's better than the same whiney b!tches complaining here on boards who at the same time put down anyone who at least attempts to stirr up some action!

anything that can incite fear into a politician is fun. Their problem at the moment is they're fearless.

Can we make it like in Harry Potter were the letters will fly into the Dail, and spew all over the place causing mass panic and confusion? I ask this as we seem to be imagining some magical parallel universe were politicians will heed, or even read, our letters.

what's wrong with trying? If only 1% of us voiced our opinion / concerns, that would be a lot of correspondance on someones desk. now, whether they simply dump it or not is another matter, but why is everyone so anti-try? are you not p!ssed that these pigs band together to give themselves a pay rise and a pat on the back, while at the same time taking that little it more from you and me? It's you lot that are living in a parallel universe. A universe where you have no sense of morals, pride, or self worth, where you believe there is nothing you can do as you sit there putting more effort into mocking and putting down anyone who would do something.

Just sit back and wait for the IMF to come in.

The IMF dont come in, you have to invite them in. As for the letter, send emails instead, the public sector paper pushers will have to be paid treble time for the extra work.

    Dear Politicians,

    You're not very good.

    Sincerely,
    Duggy

Nnnnnnaah, doesn't have the same ring to it as say....................uh......................sending them a bunch of dildos with a note saying "Now that you're done fùckin' us, you can now fùck each other over!"

Or just send them a book with an acid cartridge that triggers once it's opened then................hello melty face. Though I believe this happened to Harney many years ago, which is evident by her disfigured looks :pac:

What the fcuk is a storm of bloody letters going to accomplish? The only envelopes these pricks open are brown ones with noticeable thick contents and these envelopes are usually hand-delivered by a private messenger who taps the side of his nose. Other envelopes they may open are clearly marked as bank statements.

All other correspondence is filed....in the filing cabinet....the round one...on the floor...in the corner!

    Keep up the good work.

    Thanks,

Exactly... peacefull protest wont achieve anything. You could stand out side leinster house for a year and you would be ignored.....

Tar and feather a few of the td's and we might get somewhere. If we even got 100,000 people blockade all the goverment buildings in dublin for example there arnt enough guards in the country to be able to do anything about it.

If the guards meet you with force you hit them back twice as hard.

Can't see what the point of sending letter bombs to Leinster house...It's not like they actually turn up for work each day...You'll probably find them in the local pub or golf club though...
