Wisdom tooth causing pain in other teeth?

Okay so I have a wisdom tooth coming up on my bottom left. The pain is very severe and I can't fully close my mouth as the teeth in the row above press down on the gum causing more pain. The thing I'm worried about is the fact the pain is not only affecting the gum it's trying to come through but it's affecting to the two teeth in front of it as well and the molar above. Also now and then I get a pain in my temple as well, like the pain is running up a nerve in my jaw to the temple or something? Is this normal to experience this much pain or could it mean the tooth is infected or impacted? Also what's the best form of pain relief for wisdom teeth? I've tried using panadol but it take an hour or so to take effect and then only dulls the pain for about half an hour.
