    hi all i was wondering could anybody with any experiance using the motorola t5432 pmr446 tell me what they are like, are they any good please.I was going to go with the motorola xtr446 but i saw these other radios and they are cheaper.Any opinion will be greatfull thanks:)

    cheers man but are the px 777 any good.I am looking for a radio that will last and be reliable for a good few years

    Mmmm...that px 777 looks interesting. It claims to be 4watt. Seems quite cheap, it's Chinese made. I wonder about it's durability? Ya gotta program it from your computer too, that'll be awkward in terms of the ctcss frequencies (often known as the sub-channels).
    I was using a Binatone 950, with cheapo earpiece and PTT, at the weekend and a guy on my side reckoned the transmission from it was crystal. Binatones are pretty cheap also. They're a similar type of yoke to the XTRs your looking at, probably not as reliable as the Motorola though. On the upside, another player over the weekend had the same Binatone radio with a decent 2 pin PTT and headset that he hooked up with an adaptor from Maplins so that can be done too.
    Those yellow neighbourhood watch radios your looking at are, well, yellow! Maybe if they came in flectarn or something....
    They're probably ok though, being Motorola?...

    cheers mando i am siding with the xtr446 there expensive but i will have two and they will probably last decades.But still I would like to hear more reports from other either about the ones myself and mando menitioned or other radios u can recommend thanks
