    Hi all,

I have set up a weather website called Irish Weather Online - www.irishweatheronline.com

I got bored so decided to do a 3-hr crash course on html and css coding. :o

MT is kindly providing his forecast for the site. The long range forecast also includes an interactive weather widget provided by Ennis-based Nowcasting.

I only started the site this morning so I have a lot of work to do yet. It's low on content at present but I would appreciate it if you could check back whenever you can. I plan to add a webcam section as well as a surf report section.

Don't forget also to check out the twitter and facebook sites.

And of course, boards.ie is linked on the homepage. Anyone who wants a weather related link added is welcome to PM me. Tyhe same applies to anyone who has any pics or videos. I could do with some to help populate the site so please do send them on.

    Thanks in advance boardsies.

    Wolfe

    /favorites>add to favorites> add\ :)done!!

I dont know how you can actually do this in 3 hours as a beginner to webdesigner!! I always wanted to try set it up myself. Great stuff there eg colour scheme is perfect for the theme and the pictures etc - I should try do the same in my own area of interest someday. keep it up.

Thanks Paws. It was the template that did most of the work if the truth be told. All i really did after that was replace factory settings with my own 'section' titles, html widgets etc.

Thanks delw. Intend doing so. Have started off a section in side bar for such links and putting them into categories. So far i have pages for earthquakes, ski reports and observation stations around ireland. Rather than have traffic leave the site from a long list of links i will incorporate them into the various categories and subpages.

as for snow predictions, I have enlisted the help of a human model calculator, named MT Cranium. He is solar powered. Calculator was made in Canada though :p

Wolfe, Good luck with the site, two requests
one, keep it it easier to navigate than IWN (especially if you do a forum)
two, post some pictures of the Storm from your wounderful vantage point in the Banner County! :D

Camera is being charged up Fiskar. Pictures of mountain ash swaying more than Crystal Swing on the way tomorrow eve:)

As for a forum, I think nobody does it better than you lot here and my loyalty is to this forum.

I will concentrate on making the site a news and infromation portal more than anything with image/video contributions from visitors. There is a requirement for an Irish weather news site. Actually, I do not think there is one.

    Thanks inabina.

There will be a section dedicated to medium and long range weather models. Site is only 4 days old and new sections are being added every day.
Will get that section organised as soon possible.

    Congrats on the new site

the introduction of another weather service will no doubt irk the national meteorological service

    :D

My husband tells me you got a mention on radio Nova too, he was all excited cos' they mentioned Boards and he knows I'm always on it, he wasn't aware there were more "freaks" like me out there...:D

By the way the site looks fab, I must dig out my camera for this years winter and go for some walks - should we be lucky enough to get anything interesting falling from above.
