PhD in linguistics, teaching-please help

    Hi

My name is Patricia. I hope somebody can help me with my query.

I hold Master's degree in Education with Russian (Primary Subject) and English. I completed this degree in 2004 in Pedagogical University of Cracow - Poland and the degree was fully recognised by The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland.

I have always wanted to continue with PhD but postponed the decision for a few years and took a break from linguistics and teaching all together. However after all life adventures and doing many jobs not related to my qualifications I have grown up and realised that I still would love to do part-time PhD course and hopefully come back to training or teaching.

I am not familiar with the Irish Postgrad system and find it hard to find clear information on PhD studies. Also, my big concern is lack of funds and the specialism of my degree. Going back to Poland to continue with PhD is out of question as I can't leave my family behind.

I would be grateful for any advice or information.
