I am in the process of setting up a business and need a phone number to place on the website. I don't want to put my mobile number on it so am looking for a fixed number that forwards to my mobile.

Does anyone know the best & cheap service available?

    try Blueface.ie

I have been using them for over a year now and I have had no problems with them initial cost €30 to purchase the number I pay a tenner a month for free landline calls using voip.

Also I have it set up that all calls made to my land line number get automatically forwarded to my mobile so I don't miss any calls.

    hope this helps

How do you find sound quality? My sister used blueface a few years ago and the line quality was dreadful, I could bearly hear a sentance.

It would depend on the quality of the internet connection. If you have a high speed connection with no latency or contention ratio issues, it will be fine. If your line is slow or suffers from a high volume of traffic, the sound quality can be unbearable.

If you need telephony service enabled on your website or any other linkable document like PDF, Word, etc., then I suggest to you to search about a Click-to-Call feature. Some virtual PBX providers offer this type of feature.

You can. Plus you can get Irish area code numbers on Skype. Like an 01 number etc.

Skype or blueface both provide geographic numbers that you can forward to a mobile or landline.
