does anyone know anything about the Reps 4 course that you must do before the end of year 2.

my consultant is on to me to do it but very difficult to get the time with Off-farm work.

do you know if you can send someone (family member) in your place.

This is my first reps as just took over from Father in 2008.

My teagasc advisor allowed me to send a family member in my place and stamped the form for me for it.

thx for the quick reponse. that is what i understood you could do. however, my consultant (not teagasc) tells me you cannot do that.

i guess i just have to ring teagasc and see what they say.

    thx

Only the REPS applicant can do the REPS course. If it is a joint REPS application then either party can do the Course.

Once you have the course done - what do you do with form? Where should it be sent to does anyone know?

    Thanks.

Mine is gone in anyway and the form has been stamped that it has been done. I also know other farmers in the area who have a day job and have sent a rep and this has been accepted.

My teagasc advisor said only the applicant has to do the course. Also very short notice was given on the local course and it is not accomodating given they are held on a weekday covering 2 separate 5 hour sessions.

Sendings a rep is not allowed by the Department, fine if they get away with it but if they get caught they will have to re sit the course and the course organiser would be in bother with the Department

In REPS 3 the applicant had to do the course himself. In REPS 4 a farm manager may attend the course on the applicants behalf.
We normally send the certs in directly to the relevant Dept office and if someone wants a copy for themselves (maybe to hang on the wall!!!) we give them one.
