Looking for some help to find a new car, van, jeep. Need something thats going to be reliable, and has a decent amount of NCT (DOE in case of van).

1.4 or 1.6 petrol or any diesel
    Budget is e1000 (ish)

    Thanks
    Clohane

The 98 almera is easily the best value there. Nice find.

Traction control?? on a 1.4 98 almera? Does the seller mean that he has just never managed to spin the wheels no matter how hard he tried?

The small engine will take care of any torque steer issues :-)

I'd go for the toyota. It will go forever. Buy it at €800 and spend €200 on the few scrapes and you'd have a good reliable car.

Almera is bombroof and reliable. We have one in the family a 98 and we havent even changed the original battery. No timing belt to do either. Certainly the most reliable that I have come across. What you'll buy in diesel for a grand will either be rubbish or something that will cost you another grand or more to tax :D:D

    €200?

€8.49 can of spray in Halfords, bit of filler & about an evenings work & leave her to dry overnight & JOB DONE!!

She looks like a real pig though, hate that model/colour but any jap diesel is as reliable as fcuk
