Great news for the tour alright, delighted to see him play more in europe. He definetly plays better here.

    Welcome back Little Mac :)

I think its so refreshing that he's not motivated by the megabucks over there

means he'll probably play 3-4 more times in europe and 3 times less in the us than last year

Good decision by Rory. He'll play the World Tour now which will be far better for his overall game. We hackers should do the same. Guys who only play on their 'home' course and don't play anywhere else have a limited game. Those who travel to play their golf, on different types of courses (parkland, heath, links), are usually better golfers in the long run.

Nice to see Rory Mc playing more in europe - wonder will he play many events though?

It will only really help him win the Open, the other 3 are mainly dartboard golf. (Though obviously Augusta has its own problems)

But I agree with the point, generally the more types of courses you play the more types of shots you are forced to learn and perfect. Gives you a bigger playbook on all courses in theory.

Maybe Phil Taylor should play in the Majors so? He' quite good at darts, isn't he?

U.S Open, dartboard golf? How exactly? The greens are probably as firm as the are in the Open.

Apparently the PGA Tour will only let McIlroy play more than 10 events next year on their Tour including the 4 majors and 3 of their WGCs.

They are not really helping themselves if they want the best in the world to play week in week out in America.

Yep, because the US Open and USPGA are really target golf, aren't they?! Moronic stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did not Eric Bristow or Bobby George not win the US Open? They were once good dart throwers!

Should we prepare ourselves for more posts with darts players names in them or is this the last one?
You might want to check the forum title before you post.

I guess my point was that playing the same style American courses over and over doesnt do much for your golf game (playing against the best in the world will however improve your mental game). In fact playing on the regular PGA tour courses does not help towards winning any of the majors IMO.
Playing links golf helps in wining the open, having the ball on a string with driver and wedges helps for them all.

Oh and FYI, you have a limit to the number of ""'s you can use in one year...you might want to budget a bit better.
