    hey,

I was up really early this morning so i went out the back for a ciggy, there was a break in the clouds i seen what looked like a star that was moving and flashing on and off moving across the sky heading east coming from the north, then i looked directly above and i seen another one same thing but heading south.

they were definitly not planes, ive seen iridium flares before i posted here before about them im pretty sure it wasn't that.ive seen meteor showers and chinese laterns it wasn't them either im sure.i could see faint colour in the light kind of like when i look at sirius.

when i seen iridium flares before it flashed really bright for a second then dissapeared, these lights kept flashing though not half as bright as flares the whole way across the sky until they went out of view.

id be very interested to hear opinions, thanks.

Why do you say that they definitely weren't planes?

I can't honestly think of anything else that they may have been based on the description that you gave.

Sounds like a small jet plane. Perfect description of night time planes going overhead, with night navigation lights switched on.

I have to agree based on what was reported, that is exactly what was seen.

I've seen something similar to this on a couple of occasions. I would have thought it was a satellite spinning while is orbit or space debris spinning and catching the sunlight.
Any night I'm out star gazing I see at least one every hour or so.

Well maybe im wrong but its just ive never seen any planes with that kind of light and i live close to baldonnel airfield and im out the back a lot with my telescope and see a lot of planes.where i live theres no light polution so its really clear.

its hard to explain but it was like pin point light like a dim star that flashed, and there was two of them a fair bit apart, and the light at time stopped flashing for a good few seconds then it would appear again, but as i said could be wrong but thanks for the imput.

just wish i had the scope set up aarrrgh..
