Just like we accept French cheques for example, at a cost of €2.50, does Austria take lodgments of Irish cheques into accounts there, trust me i have tried googling, I need to know urgently please.

    Regards

Use the bank transfer route instead. Just get an iban number for the recipient.

What do you mean? You don't put an amount on a cheque to Germany, they just issue you a blank one.....well if you're Austrian they do! :D

Well if Austria is anything like Italy, it will be the most difficult thing you have ever done in your life to get it processed.
    What about a bank draft?

They will accept it but probably won't lodge it to your account...

As cheque is drawn on a different country (Ireland), they will send to Irish bank (PTSB) on a collection basis - i.e. they will return cheque to PTSB and seek a bankers payment from PTSB for same (that payment will probably be sent electronically).

You are likely to incur charges from foreign bank and possibly PTSB along the way.

Would suggest that you arm yourself with account no., IBAN, BIC Code and address of bank branch you want to lodge funds to and either send an electronic payment through your local PTSB branch - or electronically using their online banking system - assuming it facilitates such payments (I'm not a PTSB customer so I don't know if the latter is possible).

    best of luck...
