In car video driving recording systems

So I've seen people posting videos here from their in car video recording systems i.e. recording the road in front of them.

At first I thought this was a little odd. But after getting cut-up by a squad car:eek: who was seemingly aimlessly drifting lanes today, I'm starting to see the attraction of such systems.

I have questions for those who know:
    What are good systems ?
    Where to buy ?
    How much ?
Difficult to fit ? Much work involved ?

Lots of this stuff about. do bear in mind that if you install any electronic gear to a vehicle that is used on public roads , the equipment must be E marked to show that it conforms to EMC standards. most of this crap fs is not or marked with C E which means nothing in vehicle emc standards.

    Are you serious with that?
So I can't just install any radio I want?
Or maybe my MP3 transmitter - made in China - is illegal?

I have the Roadhawk, seems to be the best bang for buck at the moment.

    I've got roadhawks.

GUI is appalling imo. Can't easily export video afaik. I can't record sound because theres a loose part in the camera itself vibrating and ruining recording.

Looks like a growth sector and look forward to some better products.

Some suggs in the Dash cam thread.

Get one that starts and stop recording automatically, so you don't forget to turn it on/off. You also want one that is always recording and writes over old data automatically.
