    Hi folks, going to look at an opel astra tomorrow with mum its a 2005 njoy 1.4, is there anything major we should look out for. Obviously we have a mechanic lined up to look at it if mum likes it but is there anything that would jump out at us if it wasnt right

    The mechanic will check the engine etc so just take it for a spin and see if you like the way it drives.
    Don't just drive it straight, do a bit of reversing, turning around corners sharply. Check wear on tyres and other rubber parts you see.
    Check last NCT report, is there anything it just scraped by on? That will need fixing this time around.
    What warranties comes with car?
    What has been fixed?

    OP, if it is the one on carzone in Cork then it is not an NJOY model. The NJOY was a special edition of the previous model Astra. The one you are looking at is a basic entry level Life model, a bit expensive too at €6995 considering there is a 06 black Club model also in Cork for €7500.
