Raw is being taped tonight in Manchester, England. Nothing has been publicly announced yet for the show, which will likely feature the follow-up to Nexus invading Smackdown without Wade Barrett's knowledge, as well as more of a build to the Survivor Series PPV in Miami, FL.

I always thought that it's a shame we don't get to see Raw Live over here when it's on in the UK!

We could ruin it for all the yanks then :D

Why do they keep doing these when they have never gone over well?

Sheamus at a tea party. This could be good - or cringeworthy.

Does WWE think Europe is an extension of America? Why would they bring Raw to London and continue to direct their commentary toward American audiences? We count too! They should be saying "football" and putting "U's" where appropriate when they talk on this side of the Atlantic!

    +1

The crowd were mad for Santino, and to a lesser extent Koslov too. Great entertainment. :)

Its not a patch on his Blind Date segment.

Any explanation for the renewed Santino push?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,473 ✭✭✭✭Super-Rush

Sheamus was pissing himself all the way through that segment. Very very funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Yeah noticed Sheamus trying not to laugh. When Kozlov gets a chant you know it was a success.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,116 ✭✭✭starviewadams

It's sooo much easier to watch Raw without the king shrieking every 5 seconds or telling awful jokes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

Sheamus has that great way of finding what the person says funny in a "your an idiot" kinda funny.
Not like other heels when they just explode with anger.

"Will Orton be screwed by cena?"
Looks like thats what will happen alright.

I can expect Miz to cash in the MITB, Win and for michael cole to blow a gasket foaming over miz as champ.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Good Raw, helped by a great Manchester crowd. The Santino/Sheamus segment was the highlight. I also liked Matthews a lot on commentary. Lawler as a babyface is quite expendable really.

Based on the finish I'm starting to think Miz is part of the 'bigger picture'. Maybe he cashes it in on Kane and wins the World Title and Barrett wins the WWE Title and then Nexus control both shows. Or perhaps Orton retains and Cena is fired and then Miz cashes it in on Orton to win the belt. Wouldn't surprise me if Cole (as GM) and Miz are the ones pulling the strings of Nexus.

Thoroughly enjoyable Raw to give them their due. Even the Divas match was tolerable. The Sheamus/Santino stuff was very funny. Love watching Daniel Bryan too, he never fails to impress these days I'd never seen anything of him before WWE.

I don't think that is how it is going to happen now.

I reckon Otunga will lose to Edge on SD! and will be kicked out of Nexus as a result. He will then interfere in the Orton vs Barrett match at SS. Not sure how it will play out, but i reckon that is what will happen.

Either he will blame Cena for his problems, thus cost Barrett the match, the championship and Cena his job, or he will interfere on behalf of Barrett to help him win the championship (Nexus banned from ringside but Otunga wouldn't be a part of Nexus). Cena won't be able to do anything about Otunga interfering as the match can only be decided by pinfall or submission. Cena would then keep his job and be out of Nexus.

What that would mean for the overall story line I don't know, it could be played out a few ways following Otunga getting involved. I don't think it will be a clear decision on Cena's part as to who wins - he will count to 3 with 'shame'.

KOZLOV!! Why did you hide your greatness for so long??? Made my heart warm when all the Kozlov chants started coming and he had the biggest smile on his face. Easily the best Santino related thing in the last 2 years. Sheamus nearly shat himself laughing the hole time.

Rest of the show was pure ****. Why do Goldust and DiBiase have to be on every show boring me to tears.

Orton is so bland and boring. BIG........LONG...........PAUSES.........IN...........MY........ONLY.........SENTENCE.......OF......THE.........NIGHT

At least Eve was on the show.

I watched Raw last night with my full attention and after about ten minutes it turned into watching whilst I was playing a game on my PC and doing stuff on my phone.

I watched Impact! with my full attention the whole way through.

The product WWE puts out may be technically better in some regards, but I enjoy Impact so much more.

Part of that could be to do with how impact doesnt have ad breaks every 10 minutes.

That could contribute to it yeah, but mainly its because the WWE product is so predictable and ultimately I know they're so short minded thats its impossible to invest in any storyline as generally it seems that 99% of the products feuds or stories last about 3-4 weeks, save the infinite possibilities of the Nexus storyline which they seem to be fast tracking to end at SS.

The only performers on the WWE I actually enjoy watching wrestle are Daniel Bryan and I'm struggling to think of anyone else. I love Barratt and the Miz on the mic and Santino can be funny, but outside of that there's not much there.

Whereas in TNA I enjoy watching Styles, Joe, Sabin, Shelley, Williams, Kazarian, Morgan wrestle and then I love watching Bischoff, Flair and Nash (although he's gone now) on the mic. And even the womens wrestling is somewhat enjoyable compared to the tanked WWE womens division.

Rubbish Raw. The Womens match - "The" Manchesterz Utd vs Liverpool - was terrible. The tea party as stereotypical as it was was the best part but I'm concerned about Sheamus being involved in this comedy stuff with Santino. Josh was good on commentary. Wish we could have him on more. The main event was better than I expected. The English fans either have no interest in their own Wade Barrett or the WWE pipped in boos for the Nexus. I suspect it was the latter.

I always loved the thought of having a live Raw in Ireland (ya I know it would never happen) but tbh now I don't want it if its just going to be the same usual American Stereotype of Ireland crap. Its always the same with the English live Raws. Why cant they just drop the Cheerio, black taxi cabs, English tea stereotype rubbish. For the most part I have enjoyed Raw and WWE this year but with only one more Raw to go until Survivor Series we still have only one match named for the PPV.

I think we shouldn't worry about Sheamus in these comedy spots. He's an upper-midcard guy. He won't be in the title picture when HHH comes back sadly.

I wouldn't mind seeing him continue the feud with Triple H. Dont worry Triple H wont have many more title runs. Triple H has played a pretty good part on Raw over the last 3 to 4 years with very few title runs in that time period.

does it mean miz is next in line to feud with orton for the title :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,608 ✭✭✭irish_stevo815

First off, Sheamus and Darrn Fletcher = Excellent :D
Either he will blame Cena for his problems, thus cost Barrett the match, the championship and Cena his job, or he will interfere on behalf of Barrett to help him win the championship (Nexus banned from ringside but Otunga wouldn't be a part of Nexus). Cena won't be able to do anything about Otunga interfering as the match can only be decided by pinfall or submission. Cena would then keep his job and be out of Nexus.

I like your thinking about Otunga interfering. Maybe Otunga will lose aginst Edge intentionally, and interfere during Barretts match at SS, giving him the win. Hopefully we will actually get to find out what this "Bigger Picture" for Nexus is.

WWE might have its problems but in fairness I wouldn't compare it to the woeful TNA.

Well if I find TNA a more entertaining wrestling product than who else am I going to compare it to?

I don't enjoy WWE as much.
    • No interest in tag-team wrestling, look at the Uzos debut push lasting about 2 weeks
    • no interest in the womens division, the same bloody thing every week
    • same guys at the top wrestling each other on a loop (except for Sheamus and Santino which I actually enjoy),
    • storylines that last about 4 weeks and just seem to vanish (see Superfly Jnr and Santino as an example)
    • guys who are good workers but píss poor on the microphone
    • the main company guy (Cena) being absolutely childish most of the time and trying too hard leading to him being insanely annoying as a character
    • fast-tracking of any feud that has potential
    • the most annoying play-by-play announcer I've ever had to listen to
    • PG-related crap
    • Being force-fed "stand up for WWE" crap every week
    • the most droning, uninteresting, undeveloped champion of all time (as WWE are too busy with Nexus/Cena)
    • and probably more
Yeah TNA has issues but at least some of what happens is more entertaining, they may not have the best workers (like Jericho, Bryan) in the business but there are more above average workers in TNA than WWE. I find Hardy way more interesting than Orton (who has become a cartoon snake at this stage) as a champion and yeah some of the guys are slightly past it but they're still hugely more interesting to watch than The Truth or the Anonymous GM every week. I'd take one MCMG match and one Angle match every week over the 2 hours of dirge thats usually thrown at me by WWE.

Thats your opinion which is fair enough. I gave mine above. I think TNA is terrible in everyway possible. But not worth worrying about because it might not be even in existence this time next year the way things are going.

TNA has potential. Get rid of Hogan and Eric and that would be a great start. And yes you would take one good Angle and MCMG match a week. You dont even get that. Impact is like a soap opera with very little wrestling. I know Raw isn't perfect but Impact is a mess. And going by word of mouth, the weekends PPV was supposed to be an embarrassing mess too. Thats not my opinion though, as I have yet to see the PPV. Yup TNA has great talent, too bad its wasted.

Your soap opera line actually is something I have noticed. They are even shooting the backstage scenes with the same camera and lighting style as US soap operas. They all have that Days of Our Lives feel to the segments.

I gave up watching TNA full time about a month ago. I just can't go through 2 hours of Russo inspired nonsense every week. TNA could be great given that they have Angle, MCMG, AJ, Samoa Joe etc. But that will never happen with Russo in charge and Dixie remaining blind to the problems that have dogged TNA since its inception in Nashville.

Whereas on Raw this week, the Santino/Sheamus segment was genuinely funny. I have no problem with skits in wrestling as long as they are well done. Plus it has continued the build up to Sheamus/Morrison.
