Just wondering does anyone know whether there will be any ferry disruptions this week at all?

Rang Stena line there and they said they dont anticipate any but have a feeling they have no idea themselves and will hedge their bets that all will be grand.

Looking to go Dublin to Holyhead on Wednesday, does anyone know my best option? Which ferry has less chance of being cancelled? I have heard the ferry from dun laoighre is the one most cancelled but im not certain of that.

Hate to have one booked only to arrive and its cancelled. Really need to be in the UK for Thursday morning. Flights are crazy expensive.

Any knowledge anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a million in advance

Just back from Holyhead - Dublin yesterday

Boats should be OK in most weather, except for the seacat or other fast boats, they get cancelled a lot in windy weather!

I'd say you'll be fine to be honest, really smooth sailing yeterday

The fastcraft do not sail in poor conditions but the regular ferries are unaffected by anything but extreme storms, the ferries used on Dublin-Holyhead are some of the largest built and are very rarely cancelled due to poor weather. The forecast for Wednesday doesn't look too bad, I would be confident to predict that all the conventional ferries will be sailing.

Heres a link to Dublin ports arrivals/departures.

All the big ships seem in order.

    I went with Irish ferries

I was also in town last night and my god, the liffey was VERY high, at boardwalk height and was extremely choppy!

I can see the movements in the mornings. Yesterday morning both Irish Ferries & Stena were coming in to Dublin Port about 0900-1000 instead of their usual leaving Dublin Port about 0830, so there must have been some delay on Sunday night/Monday morning. But they definitely were sailing. They did a quick turn around and were going back out well before noon again. I can't remember the exact time.

This morning I saw one of them (but I wasn't paying too much attention to which one) going out on schedule at 0830 again, so I think you should be fairly safe with the big ferries. It looked pretty stormy and windy, but the ship was just ploughing on through. Steer clear of the fast ferries if you are worried about cancellations.
