The tour now moves to Haam in Germany this thurs for the 5th EPTC event, but most importantly the event sees the return to action of John Higgins, he plays Joe Jogia in the first round, I wouldn't expect much from him this w'end but it will be valuable match practice for the forth coming UK C'ships in December.

John Higgins played his first match since returning from suspension in the 5th EPTC in Germany this morning.
He ran out a comfortable 4-2winner over Joe Jogia.
Ken Doherty meanwhile continued some good form with a 4-2 win over Joe Swail.

John Higgins just beat Dave Harold 4-0 in his second match, that's a great win for the former world champion.
Ken Doherty has also won his second match, this time beating former Paul Hunter Scholarship winner Daniel Wells 4-3.

He was found to be innocent of match fixing (but guilty of stupidity and not informing the snooker board about a potential match fix) by an independant enquiry that was very rigid in its investigation. So maybe we can assume that the detectives did their job correctly, and let Higgins get back to playing snooker?

Another superb performance by John Higgins tonight in Germany coming from 3-1 down to beat Martin Gould 4-3. He's into the last 16 and plays again tomoro.
Ken Doherty meanwhile lost 4-0 to Tom Ford tonight.

How has Higgins been received by the fans actually? Applause or jeering? Was just reading in the guardian that apparently he was very worried about how the snooker fans would react.

Well the break away from the game hasn't seemed to have affected John Higgins, he has made the final in Germany this evening and will now play Shaun Murphy, a win here will guarantee him a place in the grand finals next March.

He used to be one of my favourite players but lost all respect for the guy after the scandel, the video evidence was pretty damning. ''But honest i was't going to fix any games i was just playing along yeah wink wink''

Higgins wins the event by beating Shaun Murphy 4-2 in the final, the win moves Higgins up to 3rd in the rankings and guarantees him a place in the PTC grand finals in March.
    Great to see him back!

Just wondering, do you not have to played a min number of events to qualify fot the finals??

Thought I had heard something about Ding not being eligable to play due to missing events?

You are spot on Tin Cup, I got carried away with myself after Higgins winning that I forgot that you must play in at least three PTC events to be eligible to qualify for the Grand Finals next March.
Higgin's has only played this one and with the 12th and final event next week in Prague wheter he wins it or not he can't qualify, but I'm sure he won't mind as it's good match practice for his return to the 'majors' at the UK in Dec.

Disappointing defeat for Ken, he's probably not going to qualify for Dublin later in the season unfortunately. Good to see Higgins back though, a fantastic player (when he's backed himself to win ;))
