free sat problem

I was setting up dvd player for my parents as their tv is old it has only one scart so i bought a scart selector box plugged in the free sat box and the dvd player now cant get a picture on the freesat, ive tried connecting the freesat box directly to the tv the way it was before but still doesnt work,ive checked all the conections and their ok.when i turn on the freesat the tv switchs over to the freesat but i just get a black screen anyone know what it could be ?.

I realise you've checked the connections but can you also try swapping the SCART cables over, verify it works via DVD then same cable onto the Freesat box.

The scart lead or connection may be dodgy can connect the tv and box via anything other than scart lead

Did you disconnect the power before removing the dish cable from the freesat box?
