BRIEFLY my husband has had CHRONIC back/neck pain for 6 yrs, mri done 3 yrs ago showed problem with some discs, orth surgeon recommended surgery, went looking for scans again and a long debacle ensued, by which the scans were 'lost', new ones were done, and a different consultant said nothing was wrong..
    Pain and mobility worsened.

Anyhow, on Thursday, our car was hit by another car, and as a result, he ended up in hospital, xray showed something, and a ct scan was done, a consultant told us he had holes in a lot of the vertebrae from neck down, and immediately did a blood test for bone cancer.
We are waiting for an mri this morning, to give more details.

I would like to know what holes in vertebrae could mean, I am rather worried to say the least, but I do know that you are SUPPOSED to have holes in the vertebrae anyway.
Can anyone enlighten - the consultants dont tell you anything!

Noone can really tell you anything very useful here. We haven't seen the scans!!
You need to pin down the consutlant - tell him you don't understand and ask him/her to explain it slowly

we dont offer any form of medical advice here, or speculate on diagnosis

ask the doctors looking after him
