Mentioning non-owned assets in a Will

Can you leave an asset you do not yet own eg a house you expect to inherit in the next few years, to someone in a will? Want to cover the scenario where I may be incapable of making another will in a few years due to a medical condition, but my assets will still be increasing.

    Thanks.

The will speaks from death so it is your asset situation at your time of death.

If you make a bequest of a specific asset and that asset does not exist, that bequest fails.

First, you need to discuss this with a solicitor, not rely on (mostly) amateurs that are on this forum. You could also consider the option of giving someone power of attorney over your affairs in anticipation of you no longer having the ability to make decisions over your possessions.
