Howdy folks, I graduated from Dundalk RTC (regional technical college) almost 20 years ago  I graduated with an NCEA Diploma in Electronic Engineering with credit (took 3 years full-time) . What is this equivalent to in todays terms? Would I be right in thinking it's a level 8 qualification? :)

I'm assuming that's a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering, it which case it would be Level 7 .... equivalent to what is now the Ordinary Degree.

I doubt it, but you could check with your old college for verification.

A Higher Diploma at Level 8 is normally a one year course, often a specialist "conversion" course which allows someone who already has a degree or similar to qualify to the same level in an extra subject or area.

You can ring the National Qualifications Authority. They can tell you what your course is equivalent to now afaik.
