How much does it cost to run iPhone 4 on Prepay?

    Hey,

    I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 4 for a present for someone for xmas. Looking at the Billpay (on Vodafone) offers it seems really expensive. Just wondering if anyone has an iPhone with Vodafone pay as you go;
    - How much does it cost you approx. a month to keep?
    - How much are you charged for going on the internet? Or is it only wifi you can access on pay as you go?
    - Are calls/texts just the same price?

    Thanks in advance.

If Ur going for vodafone, afaik vodafone 360 gives ya 100mb per day for 39cent so over the month it works out about 12euro
Calls and texts are the same price
Ya can also use wifi whenever ur in range aswell

There's a second vodafone prepay offer. Top up €30 a month and get 250mb data and either free any network texts or free vodafone to vodafone calls and texts.

I went for free texts leaving €30 for calls. Its better value than the equivalent bill pay tariff.

tbh thats a rip off, for 20 ya can get free calls and texts to other vodafone customers or else free any network texts
so for an extra tenner ya only get 250mb:eek:

With 3 it costs 5 eur for 30 days 3G internet access with 500 MB usage. I have an older HTC phone so wouldn't have as many apps as an iphone but I never seem to use that much data and I go on the net a good bit.

If you pay 20 eur a month you get free texts for the month, and a lot of free weekend minutes as well.

I manage fine on €20 a month. Free texts to all networks and 39c a day for 100mb a day leaves me about €8 a month for calls which I can live with.

It doesn't really cost an extra 10 since you still have the €10 to spend on calls, and at the moment if you top up €30 you get €36. It also reverts back to the 39c a day offer if you go over.

I find 250mb enough for a month but I'd only use it for Facebook, email and basic web surfing.

i never said it cost a tenner but its still a patethic allowance

I have never exceeded 200 MB on my iPhone, but I have WiFi at work and at home, so I really only use 3G data when I'm travelling, or to stream LastFM while driving.

Wow €12.09 a month for 3.1gb is fantastic... Have been looking for a new carrier ever since I moved to three a couple of months ago, this offer might have sold me!!

It costs as little or as much to run as you want. For example, you could even just turn off cellular data, and only use it on WiFi.

Which network is that with, or are they basically the same ?

    I was thinking of O2

I got a Sim Free iPhone 4. And went to Meteor Bill Pay. I don't know what age you are, but its basically a rolling contract. You get 200 minutes, 200 texts and 1GB of data for €30 per month.

The beauty is, you can drop out to Pay as you Go if you need to. Suits me as I'm a student. Haven't exceeded any of the quota's yet, its pretty substantial

Same contract to mine. I just missed out by a whisker on the €5 off. However, I didn't read the small print, the free stuff is only valid for 12 months :(

Yeah but in 12 months they will surely have some other offer, probably better again!

I think they normally put that stuff for new or porting customers. So one mightn't be eligible.

True but if you really want the offer you could always port to another network on a payg plan and then port back to meteor, thus becoming a "new" customer again :)

    That's if you're really desperate!

    Nope. For €20 you get

    Free any network texts
    Free any network *weekend* minutes

Then if you buy the €4.99 data add on you get 500mb

so is the 4.99 deducted from your 20 top up?
    and thats 500mb per month?
