    Done OZ 2 years ago on the greyhound bus, is there a similar setup for NZ?

    public busses are cheap ok but there are also 3 main backpacker busses.
    The stray bus, kiwi experience & magic

    I dd the stray bus tour last year and you can buy passes for different routes. Its a hop on hop off job and you stay in their recommended places or do your owen thing. They also do loads of detours to smaller places that you might not see other wise, (natural sights,beaches, etc)
    I coudnet recommend it more, greeat craic meet loads of people get to do loads of cool stuff if your into it, really adventure driven, loads of piss ups to if thats you thing

    The kiwi bus is is more of a party scene for gap yarr kids

    The magic bus is more for couples and boring asia travellers

    public transport sucks
