An excellent critique of how Lenny in the boys havnt been able to get thier eyes out of the car lights for the last 2 years, the discussion revolves around how the government acted (or mostly didnt) after the failure of Anglo. A great piece of radio imo.
The RTE link isnt working but its up on youtube

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Well, if you heard the interview you would know that as he pointed out, people like David McWilliams and Morgan Kelly were pointing out that property values here were in a massive bubble at the time Bertie Ahern was saying he didn't know why people like them didn't go off and kill themselves.

Hindsight has nothing to do with it . . .

Just shows you, virtually ever decision they have made has been the wrong one. Some people would say that its a coincidence and they are just making bad decisions, I think its a giant conspiracy to defraud the state of it wealth by an elite of criminals and traitors. Voted in by mindless sheep and idiots.

Sitting on the sidelines, cribbing & moaning is a lost opportunity. I don't know how people who engage in that don't commit suicide because frankly the only thing that motivates me is being able to actively change something - Taoiseach B. Ahern, July 4th 2007

Is there a 3rd part of these?

I completely agree with the guy, so many people are banging heads and having facepalm moments everytime the Brians open their gob

That was the interview really, her show is two hours long though and is normally podcasted on the rte.ie website.

Somerville is currently talking on www.Newstalk.ie

I thought the exact same when I heard it. It was the first time I've heard anyone get extremely agitated at the position we're in.

In fact I thought Paul's opinion was in sharp contrast with those who were interviewed afterward. The predominant attitude is that "we have to have talks", "we have to have discussions" etc about the type of society we live in. Fact is, if we don't act now and get our **** together, it will be very hard to have any say in what type of society we can have.

Enough talking Cowen, its time to act.

The country is full of captain hindsights and moaners, people can blame FF all the want and it wont change a thing because any TD whatever party are as guilty as the rest (Guilty of not being fit for the job)
We Irish vote for them, we dont vote for the smartest, most quallified we vote for the fella who we think will do best for ourselfs the fella who will buy you a pint, go to a funeral and send you a christmas card and this will never change.
There is no point waiting for any goverment to get us out of this, or constantley going on about how many billions we owe, it only makes it wores. We have to work our way out of this.

Marian's comments to him are quite amusing. Especially when he was talking about the chief economist to the central bank, a man proven to be a failure and all Marian can say is "ah shure he might be all right".

That right there is why I have zero respect for anything that is spewed out by RTE's "journalists".

Here he is on Newstalk yesterday.

I have to say, this is very distrubing to hear in the public. Its one thing for me to believe, it is another thing for this to be on RTE and Newstalk. We need a change of government urgently.

Maybe I'm giving her too much credit, but I felt she was saying trying to lead Sommerville into a anexsplosive rant on the guy.

    He dodged the bullet well.

You could be right. It's childish little things like that that RTE thrive on.

yeah while sommervile was a rock of sense , unfortunatley they had to follow him up with endless hot air from arch wooly liberal do gooder niall crowley , that guy never tires of waffling on about stuff which is purely aspirational and completley unatainable in the short term , while the guy talks alot , its all vague generalities , no specific plan or concrete idea as to how to tackle our most pressing issues , as paul sommerville said , thiers hardly a person in ireland who is oppossed to decent public services but how do you pay for them is the big question , frankly , im tired of rte providing platforms for theese ivory towe liberals on such a regular basis

For 13 years, we could paraphrase JFK: Ask not what FF can do for Ireland, but what Ireland can do for FF.
