Hey, im looking at buying a netbook, the Acer Aspire 1 751h and I can get one for about €240 refurb with these specs:
    • Screen size - 11.6 in
    • Processor - Intel Atom Z520 - 1.33
    • RAM - 2 GB
    • Hard Drive - 250 GB
    • Operating System - Windows Vista Home Basic Edition 32 bit
    • Graphics - Intel GMA 550
Are these specs good and is the price good for what I would be getting? The processor worries me as most netbooks nowadays use the 1.66 Intel Atom N450 and this is a fair bit off. What exactly does refurb mean also? Will I get the original box, manuals, OS cds etc.?

The reason I like it though is because it has the bigger screen and big HD and 2gb of RAM. Is the processor a massive hindrance like, or could I use it fine for like microsoft office, itunes, firefox etc. multi tasking and have no problems or is it a very poor processor?

Is this a good deal also, or do you have any other recommendations for about €250?

Any use this netbook even before?

    What do you think?

Netbook's shouldn't be bought for things like MS Office etc, just my personal opinion.

Anyways, i wouldn't touch an ACER, terrible make compared to others, my brother has an ACER netbook and its had more problems then anything else.

They also get terribly hot which can fry the ram and the power port as there normally situated right beside the fan.

If you want a netbook i would recommend Toshiba.

I know it only has 1GB ram but it would only cost your 50 euro, maybe less to get a 2GB card.

I bought this laptop for my dad. once you remove the mc afee security centre software (really slows it down - use ms security essentials instead with real-time protection off) it actually runs ok. the screen is very nice due to larger size, brightness and good resolution. the keyboard takes a slight bit getting used to but is also good. it should work ok for ms office once you're not talking about huge recalculating excel sheets. overall it's a bit more usable that a 10" netbook due to bigger screen and keyboard.

    Why?

I have no problems with acer. And it would be fine for Office apps like word and some basic excel work. The 11.6 inch screen will help. I wouldn't be mad about the processor tbh. But you'd get away with your usage i'd imagine.
