Tips on growing a moustache?

OK, I've a few weeks off work and decided to grow a moustache. I've always wanted to grow one kind of as a laugh but I want to decide when it grows fully weather I like it or not. The problem is its fcuking killing me at the moment. It's irritating the lip off me.

I've about 8 days worth of growth bit it still looks like something a 14 year old would grow. I know if I keep at it it will thinken up and not look so shabby.

Is there a certain way/frequency of shaving that will help it grow faster or is that all bolloks? What can I do to help the irritation? I've been putting moisturiser on it but it only lasts a few minutes before it starts hurting again.

Let nature take it's course. You can't expect to have a perfect moustache in a week.

Shaving will not speed up hair growth. That's a myth.

I'm following the tips from Movember - mainly shampoo and conditioner. Might seem like overkill but it stoops the skin underneath getting dry and itchy.

I'm growing a 'tache myself for Movember. It's a pity that not many other guys are doing it as it's in a good cause.

I had a goatee for 7 years in my 20s so I'm used to a bit of facial hair.:D My tache is coming along but I wish it would grow faster...

Big tip, I decided not to shave off the Mo beard but once that 'stache gets to a respectable length stop drinking beer straight from that can !!!!!!!

More than a few times i've had a stray hair get ripped out by the ring pull of the can, ouch !!!!!!!
