    A Chara,
There are presently two sets of traffic cones / concrete isolators on this road. One is on the city-bound side at the weigh-booth, the other is on the south-bound side at the Green Isle hotel.
Both these barriers force cyclists to mix it with the cars etc. in the left lane, as they totally isolate the hard shoulder.

Can a narrow 'chicken run' not be left open, for those cyclists too yellow to take on the 4-wheeled commuters? Give me some rough ground any day, if the choice is the main road at that location.

    Is mise, Le meas,
    Roadtoad

    Dear Roadtoad,
My colleagues in South Dublin County Council passed your concerns on to me as they feel it deserves priority attention. Unfortunately the money available to infrastructure next year will be limited leaving us with a very restricted budget. How as ever to help you, I have enclosed a voucher for 200g of cheese.
If you have any other concerns do not hesitate to contact me or my successor.
    Yours Sincerely
    Noel Dempsey
