    IIRC they bank quickly after take off to take the aircraft away from the residential area near the airport to cut down on noise pollution. Concorde had a pretty severe bank angle after take off for this reason.

    Edit: This shows it pretty well.

    Yeah true it is normal for JFK. Funnily enough when I was there we queued for no more than 10 mins. The airport seemed very quiet which surprised me. Worst queue ever was in Heathrow. I swear it was longer than the flight back to Dublin itself.
