I'm starting a job next monday. Its going to be as cover, so will be a short duration, and might not be a full week every week. At the moment my wife is using all of our credits.

What is the best approach to take with this? If I split our credits then theres a chance I might be back on the job market again a week later.

I think you can decide at the end of the tax year, make your decision then and ask Revenue for a balancing statement (and a refund).
