The World Seniors kicks off tonight, although it's only on for the w'end and the first round matches are best of three, it should be great fun, mind you you can be sure all the players will want to win this one.The event is down to the quarters after a prelim w'end back in Sept.

The line up is Ken Doherty v Nigel Bond or Peter Ebdon,Steve Davis v Joe Johnson in a rerun of the 1986/1987 final,Dennis Taylor v John Parrott,Jimmy White v Cliff Thorburn.
The first prize is £20,000 and Sky are covering the event with a special week of shows over the Xmas.

Play starts tomorrow morning as the welcome dinner for players, sponsors and guest is on tonight, I'd say there will be some stories doing the rounds tonight!!
Already John Parrott has joked that the first prize is a hip replacement!!

Ken Doherty's hopes of adding a World Seniors crown to his World Junior, World Amateur and World Professional Title ended this morning after he lost 2-0 to Nigel Bond at the World Seniors in Bradford.
