    Quick question
after my first year driving on my own policy will i have 1 year NCB or you do only start getting that discount after a few years of driving?
I'd no driving experience before this year and just checking out quotes for what it'll be like when renewing

I've been told by several people that you don't start earning NCB until you're over the age of 21, but I've never actually found any evidence to support this, and every insurance company I've come across has accepted my years of NCB earned while I was under 21.

Maybe it's just one or two specific insurance companies? Or maybe it's just a silly belief that people have?

After one year claim free you'll always get a one year no claims cert. How an individual insurance company chooses to discount for it or not is up to them.

Sorry, poorly phrased on my part.

I understand that, what I meant was that I'd been told by a good few people that companies wouldn't grant any NCB discount to people under 21. This must be a thing of the past, or only done by a select few companies, though, cuz I've haven't come across it as of yet.
