My Dad has is on the old civil servant contract in Eircom, if the IMF come in could they scrap this redundancy offer that he has at the moment? or is this a stupid question.

    Thanks

    Nope.

When Eircom were bought privately, all existing contracts must still be honoured by Eircom.

You Dads contract has nothing to do with the public sector any more.

The redundancy offer is only as good as the timespan it applies to.

Unless your dad's contract specifies what his redundancy entitlements are (seems unlikely) the terms can be changed by eircom. However, eircom is a private company so there is no reason why it should be dictated to by the IMF or other "white knight".
