was just wondering could anyone recommend some high energy foods? im a poor eater and most days i feel sluggish and tired. lately though ive tried to cut down on the rubbish i eat and im starting to feel better but are there any snacks or something i could eat during the day to give me a boost? also what kind of food should i be eating if i want to increase my fitness level?

    thanks!

Fruit is a low energy food.

High energy foods would be things like eggs, dairy and meat.

For snacks you could have, for example, hard boiled eggs, cheese and tinned corned beef.

Nuts are high energy. And healthy too.

High energy foods = high calorie foods as calories = energy.

Not all fruit if low energy, Dried fruit such as raisins and dried bananas are very high energy foods...

As the poster above said, nuts are probably the best example of a high energy food but if your looking for a boost before exercise, you would be better off with high energy fruit or energy drinks...

Why not post a typical day on what and when you eat.

The people who often complain of feeling tired tend to skip breakfast, eat refined sugary food and then a huge meal at night just like ur nan told you to.

    seriously though, let us know.
