I don't like to bring up old issues that have already had a good airing, but now that DTT is properly up and running (welcome TV3) I am interested in the above issue.

Did anyone ever find a CAM that worked properly to allow DTT viewing on LG TV (Mpeg2) models ?

No cam will work properly ever on any TV to get Saorview. You need a Setbox or a new TV.
If TV was bought inside 24months you have good grounds for refund or replacement.

Its my parents' TV and it was bought just over a year ago in Curry's.

Would be interested to hear if anyone has been to Curry's and succeeded in getting the refund Watty mentions.

The Currys boss is away for a few days...

They can offer alternate TV, or possibly "repair" using a Walker "Saorview" or UK "FreeviewHD" Set or refund. The options on how to solve the "unfit for purpose" TV are up to them.

You could argue that a separate setbox isn't an adequate repair, if you really want an "all in one" TV, I think it might be a reasonable compromise. They aren't obliged to refund, but to "sort out" the problem, if they can't then they are obliged to refund.

Go and talk politely to them. Print out facts (not debates).
