OK, I don't know how to explain this, but I have a friend in the US that wants to watch some Irish TV, like The Late Late Show - I don't know why and I want to be able to watch some of his US TV over here. Other than buying a Slingbox is there a free software solution where using my USB DVB-T HDTV TV Tuner in my laptop I can share\stream shows to him and visa\versa?

I use Orb Live to stream my stuff and I have to say it works very well. I can even stream to my iphone over 3g and with a good internet connection it seems excellent. The online interface is a bit buggy and a few quirks here and there but all in all works well and is free online. I have sent friends links to some of my recorded shows that they were able to stream to their laptops.

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for that, I'll have to try that. Another possible option is to provide him with remote access to my PC and vice versa, but I'm not sure if that would work because I have Windows 7 and he has a Mac??

Yeah I think that would be possible too but probably a pain to setup and manage. Orb seems to stream directly from your computer and manages all the permissions etc automatically. You can even stream live tv.

    Hi Phil,

Thanks again. From what I can see, if I install Orbcaster on my PC I can stream my TV, but am I correct in assuming you need to have Orb Live to watch it and it appears that you can only install Orb Live on a Smart Phone or Ipod? Or can you watch the stream from any PC or a PC with Orb Live installed?

You can log on to the website and it gives you an interface to all your content for streaming. Orb live is for the iphone but you don't have to use that.
