    Hi.

My sister is getting married in 2012 & already the search for the dress has begun!
While on holidays in Portugal recently she seen a beautiful dress which she took pictures of......but not the dress manufacturer name.
She did email the shop & ask them who makes the dress, but they will not tell her. I can understand in a way as obviously they want to get the sale themselves rather than facilitate her to order it elsewhere.

If anyone has seen this dress recently or one very like it (either online or in Ireland), could you please let me know where?

    Thanks a mill,

    C

(ps, in the pics it looks slightly grey, but its actually a very pale green up close I'm told!)

Looks similar to a range I saw in the bridal outlet in Baldoyle http://www.thebridaloutlet.ie/

I'd suggest a visit, other than that no idea who the designer is

Can't be sure, as I don't recognise the dress directly but it looks like one from the Demetrios Sensualle range:

halfway down the page are a number of very very similar dresses

    'Ritual Nouvos' (sp?)

My sis found their website, but it doesn't say anywhere what brands are stocked.
When she checked for it again recently, the site seems to be down/offline.

Thanks a million for the links folks, that's fantastic! I'll check them both out :)

It is very like a Maggie Sottero dress I tried on but that was in 2008 collection from the designer.
www.maggiesottero.com - could be worth a look

Also looks similar to some Linea Raffaelli dresses. Google them and you can find pictures.

I saw one very similar in Sabella Bridal in Waterford..they custom make dresses for you so if she was to show the picture they'd get it made no problem

Seeing as the dress shes likes is in Portugal,
would it not just make more logical sense if the 2 of you got a cheap flight back there and get the dress she fell in love with instead of going to all the bother of trying to replicate something that is already available!

Good suggestion & I'd love to go to Portugal, but unfortunately the travel costs (even with Ryanair) would be too prohibitive at the moment as well as the time (2 hour drive to Dublin airport, 3 hour flight, 1 hour drive from airport to bridal shop)

There's also the whole thing of fittings, if we bought it there she would have to pay extra to get it altered here.

It doesn't have to be that exact same dress, just something roughly the same colour/design would be great. :)

Just thought I would throw it out there,
I know sometimes we all overthink things and the easiest option doesnt come to mind till too late!

I hope you manage to get it all sorted out!

beautiful dress and I love the unusual colour - however....
sorry to be a pain, but you say yourself that it looks grey in the photo but is actually green. I actually think it is probably more stunning in 'real life' and the colour shows great, but as you can see in photos it looks grey...this could be the case in the wedding photos also, so your sis needs to be sure that she likes the dress whether it looks green or grey! and will need a good photographer who knows about lighting to show the dress to its best effect.

just something I'm throwing in there, just to act as devils advocate.

also, this style (or similar) is available in various shops so perhaps she should try as similar a dress as she can find and see if the style suits her before she goes mad buying a green dress only to find out it doesn't suit her! I had a style dress in my head for years, saw a version of it I LOVED, tried it on and it looked pants on me! gorgeous dress, just not so much on me! so maybe try on a dress in that style first, then if the fit and style suits her THEN go trying to find it in her dream colour!?

Little Ted, excellent point. I have no idea why she didn't just try the dress on when she was over there, as it is an usual color. So you're right, it mightn't suit everyone.

It'd be a shame for her to set her heart on that exact dress/colour only for it to look off if she got it.

I think the shape of it is the big thing for her, it looks like a really flattering design :)

yeah ive seen that dress on BBC's "DONT TELL THE BRIDE"

She has to consider, would she like a dress that looks like it was in the white wash with a black sock and turned grey? I mean if it turned out grey in your photos...its going to be grey in all the wedding photos. Not much you can do about that. If she can live with it being "green" in real life and "dirty white" in photos, yeah sure go for it.
