He should defo take Vera and there is no better stage to do it on. This would get Andy the recognition he needs from the american audience. Vera was called in as opponent so should be greatful to stay on the card.
    Really hope this comes off.

It should have happened a year or 18 months ago, but I'd be delighted to see them pull it off. Lee needs this

Imagine if he lost again though, it would completely kill him, Vera has been beaten in 4 out of his last 5 fights:eek:

That said, I'd rather see lose than fight more Mamadou Thiam's:pac:

It would be great exposure for Lee if he could beat Vera and then Duddy. They wouldn't be wins that would warrant a world title shot but at least it'll get him a few more fans stateside. Of course, there is no guarantee that either fight will happen. It's quite possible that nothing will come of a Vera rematch or a fight with Duddy and Lee will end up continuing where he left off (regularly beating up 40 year old taxi drivers).

I think we should as irish boxing fans should forget Lee and follow Macklin who consistently fights top opposition and looks great doing so like his next defence of his precious EBU title against Ruban Veron.

Its a mouth watering clash and i just cant wait to see Macklin once again prove his superiority.;)

I think Vera will decline this. He has had ample opportunity prior to this to get in the ring again with Lee but has avoided doing so.
Anyway there is not much to be achieved by beating Vera, aside from restoring pride. Lee though should really be looking to bigger fights at this stage.
Although having said that just being on the pac v margarito card would be good exposure

Thats a bit harsh as he did just beat a pirate! Mamadou Thiam has a wooden leg so he has to be a pirate.

Pavlik was fighting Vera at a catchweight of 164 pounds. Surely Lee would not fight Vera at this weight, or would he?

Read something about a clause in the contract which means the Pavlik Vs Vera fight could be rescheduled within 90 days. If that's going ahead there's no way Vera is turning it down.

People really think Vera is running scared of Lee? Pull the other one.

Lee will always be a name vera can cash in on and vice versa. Neither man will run scraed from the other. No matter what happens this fight will always sell.

The way Vera takes shots, he's going to get absolutely bear mauled by Pavlik if that fight goes ahead. Even if it's a below par version of Pavlik. Lee needs to get him now for it to be worth anything at all. He's already taken a lot of pretty rough beat downs.

It would not be a good idea to fight at that weight. In the first fight Vera was 161 lbs and Lee was like 158 and 3/4 lbs so he should just get him at 161 and maul him!!!
