Just wanted to say good luck and best wishes to the lads heading over to Bisley in the next day or so to attend the 2010 European F-Class Championships being held in Bisley between the 5th and 7th of Nov.

There is a good amount of lads heading over and the ability level of the shooters attending is very strong. I'm personally hoping for good things both in the individuals and the team events. I have shot beside these lads for a while and i'm sure all will do us proud not to mention bringing home the "bacon".

I'm raging i cannot attend myself, but thats another ball of wax.

    Anyway, best of luck lads.

    Ezri.

The layout for the wekend is as follows:

Friday - Morning - 800 yd practice and zeroing for 900 and 1000 yds.

Friday - Afternoon - 900 and 1,000 yd indvidual competition.

    Saturday - Morning to afternoon - 800, 900, 1,000 yd individual competition.

So at this stage they have the zeroing and practice done and if they have not already started they will be shortly for the 900 and 1,000 yd comp. 5 details.

Will post any results as i get them.

    1. Vince Bottomingly - 161 + 9v
    2. Adam Bagnal - 160 + 11v
    3. John Cross - 160 + 11v
    4. Andrew Burgess - 159 + 10v
    5. Adrian Casey - 159 + 8v
    6. Stephen Doyle - 157 + 10v
    7. Russell Simmonds - 157 + 8v
We have Adrian and Stephen holding well in 5th and 6th and with a bit of bragging rights coming ahead of Russel Simmonds. British and World champion.

These are the aggregate scores for individuals in F/TR. We have a few other lads running in 19th and tied 40th place. Its actually close enough shooting with 20 points seperating 50th and first.

For those not too familiar with FTR shooting thats close.

    Good man Adrian and Doyler!
I knew Adrian knew his stuff, and he ha put a lot of time and effort into it.

I had a good chat with him a few weeks back.
Good to see all the hard work and tweaking of his rifle paid off!

Just a final update for today.

Was wondering why the scores were so high, and by that i mean over 150 which is the possible high for 2 details. They are actually shooting the standard 2 + 15 at 800 and 900 yds (thats 2 sighters and 15 scoring points) and then at 1,000 yds its 2 + 20.

So the top possible score is actually 175 + 35v as opposed to the standard 150 + 30v. Hoping to get some news of the F-Open guys so stay tuned.

Final day of individuals is over.

Very good day for all the lads with no-one scoring under 70 (out of 75). Liam Fenlon had a great scoring of 74.7v to finsh 9th overall from 19th yesterday. Stephen Doyle turned in good scores with 72 and came in 7th overall.

Finally we have Adrian Casey holding good scores and finishing 6th overall. He was shooting next to Russell Simmonds who shot very well finshing 1st overall (thats why he is champion :D) up from 7th yesterday.

All in all a great display from our lads, most of whom have never shot Bisley before. Its team tomorrow. I still haven't gotten any word yet on the F-Open lads, but will keep trying.

Good to see all the hard work and tweaking of his rifle paid off!

Thats why i got my rifle done. He got the barrel changed by Figgy (Fergal White) and stuck on his own custom stock (cannot remember the make). Look at the results. You see a lad shooting every week beside you, and without sounding "naff", you get used to them. Its only when you see it on a bigger/European stage you realise how good they are.

Now i'm by no means taking away from the other lads far from it. (Just coming top of the Irish has its perks. :D) Stepehen's results are just as impressive and the comeback by Liam from what (by his standards) must have been a disappointing opening day is great. Lets also not forget the other lads. Alan DeLacy and Killian Hennesey. First time shooting Bisley and no scores under 70.

    Some result lads.

    Thanks for all the support!

Much appreciated - We were delighted to get the words of encouragement when over the water. So thanks to all.

I've put together the scores from the doors (apologies in advance for the dodgy quality - crappy phone camera and photoshop job!)

Here's the F/TR Aggregates for the Friday (I've highlighted the Irish lads):

Here's the full list and breakdown of the scores for all match results, daily aggregates, and overall Grand Aggregates for the F-Class European Championship 2010 Individuals:

    F-Open Results: http://www.nra.org.uk/common/files/results/2010/EuropeanOpen10.pdf

So you'll know what each match was, here's the running order to match the results sheets:

    Friday - Match 2: 1000 yds (2 sighters + 20 to Score = Max. 100 Points with 20 V's)
    Saturday - Match 3: 800 yds (2 sighters + 15 to Score = Max. 75 Points with 15 V's)
    Saturday - Match 4: 900 yds (2 sighters + 15 to Score = Max. 75 Points with 15 V's)
    Saturday - Match 5: 1000 yds ((2 sighters + 20 to Score = Max. 100 Points with 20 V's)

And here's some pics along the 900yd firing line on the Stickledown Range during the Saturday shoot:

And here's a very nervous and star-struck young rifleman from the Kingdom ;) keeping pace and more than holding his own alongside the current two-time European & World Champion (and it must also be said, managing to shoot a 5 in the midst of a mist so thick the targets couldn't be seen:cool:):
