What Aircraft was it? Did you mistake the tail for something like this seen on Nov 1st 2010: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aerphoto/5140194757/

That persons Photostream seems to have captured pretty much alot of the exotic stuff that goes in/out of EIDW?

Well it is a very distinctive tail...

But there exists a photograph of one of their 747-400s landing in Dublin for maintenance at Dublin Airport, so there is a precedent..

It could only be A340-200/600 though..hard to miss..

Might be to do with the SA Rugby team coming in for the Match this Sat? Although 1st Nov might have been a little early.

i may be wrong, i only got a couple of glances as it was landing (i was driving down the M1 at the time) and then when taxi (i was driving on m50 at the time) so i couldnt really get a good look or take my eyes off the road

dont think the SA rugby team arrived until yesterday tho

They arrived yesterday, they fly into LHR then onto EIDW.

    Some consistency is required please!

    Either:
They arrived yesterday, they fly into LHR then onto DUB.
    or:
They arrived yesterday, they fly into EGLL then onto EIDW.
